Ogilvie LLP named Finalist in 2020 Awards of Excellence in Housing General Member of the year, Builders Choice: Service Directly to a Builder / Renovator

Edmonton's development industry is competitive but the culture is one of collaboration and support.

As Ogilvie LLP celebrates its 100th year in 2020, the firm sees itself as seasoned in real estate and development law but maintains a passion for curiosity and growth. The industry is ever evolving and Ogilvie prides itself on keeping pace and providing novel strategic insight and mentorship when needed. The recognition is remarkable given the quality of trades and suppliers considered for this customer service driven award, and this isn’t the first nomination. Ogilvie made the cut in 2017 & 2019 and is the only law firm to ever be named a finalist.

Bryce R. Milliken has been a Partner at Ogilvie since 2015 and says that the recognition of his firm being a finalist in this year’s Awards of Excellence in Housing is meaningful because it’s a reflection of strong client service – a priority at Ogilvie. “We want to integrate with clients as much as possible to provide an exceptional legal experience.” Bryce has a tremendous passion for the real estate development industry. He loves being at the center of business creation, densification and community innovation.

Having such a high level of experience flows down to the staff, another Ogilvie advantage. Paralegals, conveyancers and assistants see an abundance of transactions. That experience keeps projects moving forward successfully and gives clients the assurance they can lean on Ogilvie without question.

One hundred years of experience at Ogilvie has fostered close ties to the development industry which is a competitive advantage. “We truly believe that knowing our client’s business environment provides added context, and we can give better legal advice to our clients as a result.” Bryce served as president of the Canadian Homebuilders Association, Edmonton region, in 2019 and currently serves on the Board of BILD Alberta. Partners, associates and students at Ogilvie are encouraged to nurture and serve the community.

When Bryce started at Ogilvie as an articling student in 2005, he dreamed of having a successful practice centered around real estate and business law. In 2020, that dream is a reality. “I get to be a part of the team at Ogilvie that plays a part in the transformation of our city. There is huge pride in the contribution our firm has made to the evolution of Edmonton. I love this city and I’m proud to have a part in its growth so that it remains world class, the kind of place my daughters will want to call home.”
