Ogilvie LLP celebrates Rod J. Wasylyshyn recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada for 2021
For Rod J. Wasylyshyn, being awarded in the area of Construction Law by Best Lawyers means his practice of steering clients away from lengthy and expensive litigation in favour of resolution, is working.
Best Lawyers is the ‘oldest and most respected peer review publication in the legal profession’. Recognition by Best Lawyers is conducted through professional peer nomination using a survey process that evaluates the quality of legal services provided by nominees.
Wasylyshyn loves the dynamic nature of the construction industry and takes pride in being knowledgeable in this complex area of the law. Proficiency and significant experience give Wasylyshyn the ability to find practical solutions, including negotiation, mediation, arbitration and Builders’s Liens, to his clients’ legal problems. Finding the correct solution is a win win: Wasylyshyn develops life-long clients and his clients get preventative and strategic legal services that are focused on keeping companies out of timely and resource consuming litigation.
His longstanding reputation for integrity garnered Wasylyshyn the prestigious appointment in 2020 of Independent Supervising Solicitor by Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench. The role addressed a civil search warrant in a dispute between a construction company and its employees/shareholders. Wasylyshyn acted for neither party, instead he oversaw the execution of the warrant to ensure fairness to all involved in the dispute.
Wasylyshyn’s passion for Construction Law has grown and deepened over the years. Ogilvie reaching its 100 year anniversary in 2020 is due to team members like Wasylyshyn; dedicated to excellence for clients and working together in purpose.
