OUR FIRM
Our Founder
Our founder, James Harwood Ogilvie, Q.C., established the firm in 1920. He practiced law in Edmonton for 57 years, distinguishing himself as a leader in business, community affairs and politics. Mr. Ogilvie served 15 years as an Alderman and was appointed to almost every committee of city council. In addition to his successful legal practice and political endeavours, he actively participated in numerous community organizations. The City of Edmonton recognized Mr. Ogilvie's contributions by naming a prominent residential subdivision in his honour - "Ogilvie Ridge".
James Ogilvie's standards of excellence have endured throughout the years, and the strength and reputation of our firm are built on the strong foundation of ingenuity and leadership he demonstrated.
Past Members
Our firm is proud of the past members who have been appointed to the bench in recognition of their outstanding abilities. Justice Michael O'Byrne was appointed to the Supreme Court of Alberta in 1967 and later became a member of the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta prior to retiring in 2000; Justice Roger P. Kerans was appointed to the District Court of the Province of Alberta in 1970 and retired from the Court of Appeal of Alberta in 1998; and Justice Tellex W. Gallant was appointed to the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta in 1984.
